Last quarter I had the privilege of attending an awards ceremony in NYC where a leader spoke about the role women leaders play in influencing and mentoring other women. Her quote was simply, “you have to SEE it to BE it.”

That statement really resonated with me. At Productions Plus, I believe we have SEEN we can be anything we want to BE. Our CEO, Margery Krevsky, founded this company because she had a vision of what women could achieve. She saw that models could be more than just their looks for brand messaging. Over 20 years later our employees still see her in the office being actively involved in her company at a time in life that most would check out. We SEE clients who are living and breathing great work. We are small enough as an organization that we can approach our leaders every day. My team has access to our CFO, VP and Executive Director team every day. Margery has created a company that allows us to SEE a job we want and go for it! We have success modeled for us every day.

This year I will be thinking of Congress, of Margery, my own working mother and of all the women in my life who helped pave the way to my becoming President of Productions Plus. I plan to be mindful of the role I play in other women’s lives and how each of us has the capability to inspire daily. Let’s all challenge each other this year to educate, empower and mentor those who have and will come after us. Male AND female. Let’s have a prosperous year while positioning 2020 to smash even more records.

This week, Productions Plus president Hedy Popson served as a panelist during Toyota’s inaugural “Power of Exchange” conference and networking forum in Plano, Texas. The event brought together women-and-minority owned business owners from the region as Toyota works to integrate itself into the North Texas community. As part of the “One Toyota” program, the event supports the company’s supplier diversity program and inclusive procurement practices.

Hedy’s panel, “Just the Two of Us: Successful Tier 1 and Tier 2 Relationships,” also featured representatives from George P. Johnson, TeamOne and ASV, Inc. and explored the essential elements of effective supplier relationships. Trust, longevity, conflict, communication and relationship management were among the discussion topics of the hour-long panel moderated by renowned entrepreneur, business consultant and business author Robert Wallace.

Productions Plus was honored to have the opportunity to reinforce its role as a valued, integral partner with Toyota – with whom our relationship spans 20 years – particularly as Toyota undertakes the most significant change to its operations in the last 50 years with its upcoming move to Texas.

Last week, Productions Plus headed to the Windy City for the Chicago Auto Show with 270 automotive product specialists representing 15 brands. Hedy joins other notable Southern Californians in the role as judge, including former NFL Denver Broncos running back Terell Davis, FOX 5 San Diego anchor Shally Zomorodi and beauty brand founder Manna Kadar.

“I’m honored to work with MISS CALIFORNIA USA in support of their mission to provide young women with opportunities for self-development, scholarship and service to community,” says Hedy. Before beginning her career as an automotive product specialist and subsequent executive leadership with Productions Plus, Hedy held the title of Miss Teen North America and spent several years as a pageant coach and life coach. “Productions Plus works with many former state and national title holders from the MISS USA system because we love their credentials – we know they will be poised and dedicated, with excellent communications skills.”

As part of the Miss Universe Organization, the MISS CALIFORNIA USA pageant works to showcase poised young women ages 13-26 in the state of California, providing them with opportunities to serve as spokeswomen for various cause alliances. The state competition is the culmination of scores of local pageants, and the winner of MISS CALIFORNIA USA will go on to compete at the national MISS USA competition which is nationally televised live on NBC.
